A group met at the American Legion Hall on April 13, 1975 for worship and to discuss the possibility of forming a new church in Tipton. The following week, Sunday School and a morning worship service were held at the Legion Hall. Beginning on April 27, 1975, the group rented the Presbyterian Church for their services.

At the May 28, 1975 business meeting, it was voted to change the name from the Tipton Mission to the Tipton Community Church. By this time the church was fully organized with deacons, trustees, and other necessary officers and committees. The members voted to remain interdenominational.

The Tipton Community Church was incorporated on June 13, 1975. The first pastor, Rev. Allen K. Tow, moved to Tipton July 14, 1975.

A mobile home was purchased in October, 1975 and installed south of the church building for classroom and office use. A parsonage was purchased in January 1976.

Following the regular worship service on April 11, 1976 the church celebrated its first anniversary with a contributed luncheon and a special service. Seventy-five persons attended.
