In November of 1946 Dr. and Mrs. C .F. Luebbert moved to Tipton where he opened his office for general practice in the Al Martin building above the old post office. His practice included obstetrics and many home deliveries.

In 1947 he purchased the Isabel Woods home and converted part of the house into an office with x-ray and laboratory facilities. After several years the present Tipton Osteopathic Clinic at the corner of Pacific and Moniteau was constructed. At that time a two-room obstetrical ward was included. The present clinic provides emergency care, office surgery, complete medical and diagnostic laboratory with EKG and x-ray.

Dr. Luebbert helped establish the Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the Still Hospital and also has staff privileges at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. He is medical director of the Tipton Manor Nursing Home.

Tipton Veterinary Clinic was established by Dr. Stephen Byergo in June 1971 after receiving his degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

The majority of practice consists of food animal medicine with an emphasis on preventive herd health. The remain­der of the practice consists of the care of small companion animals and horses.

Dr. H.P. Stonner moved to Tipton in February, 1946. His first dental office was in Dr. Fischer's old office over Hecht's Drug Store. In May, 1952, he moved his office to the City Hall. He built a new home and office combina­tion on Highway 50 and Park Avenue in June 1959.

The Rea Chiropractic Office was established in December of 1964, when Doctor George D. Rea and his family located at 116 E. Morgan St., Tipton, Missouri.

Dr. Rea, as a chiropractor, speciali­zes in the maintenance of health through natural means. He deals with the relationship between the nervous system and the articulations of the spinal column and the role of this relationship to sickness and health.

The law firm of Kibbe, Crews & Gaw was originally started by Charles Bailey in the early 1960's. He was joined by James Crews on January 1, 1967. H. Ralph Gaw worked for the firm during the summer of 1969. After finishing his tour of duty with the U.S. Army, he joined Mr. Crews as a partner. Charles Bailey had left the firm shortly before that time.

On July 1, 1973, Crews and Gaw formed a partnership with John Kibbe. Gary Schmidt is currently associated with the firm which has offices in Tipton and California.

Clarence W. Hawk moved to Moni­teau County in 1969 and opened his law office in Tipton on August 1, 1970.

Soon thereafter he also started the business of Hawk Title & Surety Co. The latter company specializes in providing contractors performance bonds, bank fidelity bonds, land title insurance and complete insurance coverage for contractors. 

The Hawk Law Offices and the Title Company are both located in the Tipton Plaza at Tipton.
